I found this image searching Flickr for social media related posts. This image was posted on FredCavazza account. It is an interesting visual representation of social media uses and platforms best suited to that stye.

Thought I'd add another photo for interest sake a homage to COVID-19 2020.

I found this photo via the State libraries Flickr account. It is a sign of the times for libraries in Australia. It was posted by the Blue Mountains library to the NSW Public Libraries buildings group. It is creative commons and has tags attached to this image of Covid-19, library, public, libs&libs and #nswpubliclibraries.

My experience

I thought Flickr was a great place to find photos as each photo is uploaded with lots of information attached, such as who took the photo, when and where, even information on type of camera used. Flickr has a function to geotag photos. There is also information on other groups, albums and galleries the photos you are looking at are included which may help you find photos on similar subjects, themes and locations.

Uses for Flickr in libraries - would be good for local history collections where information behind the photos can be added and locations pin pointed on a map.

The State Library uses Flicker commons to share some of their collections of images and videos. They have also set up two groups NSW public library buildings(for NSW libraries) and public library buildings (for all other libraries in Australia and around the world) to enable public libraries to share images of their libraries with each other. To inspire and inform (and to brag) with images of their buildings, layout, furniture, street fronts etc.
