Task 5 Wiki

 Class Wiki experience ✌

The exercise we took part in today gave me an insight into the world of creating a Wiki. There is probably a plethora of ways to manipulate and display information on these types of media pages. I can see how it might be hard to control what people add or change on the page unless there is a dedicated person to follow all the changed posts, and verification of facts could also be an issue. For a small closed group this would not be such a problem.

Wiki could be used for - collaboration among libraries (maybe for instructional help with commonly used systems).
                                 - collaboration among library staff as a knowledge base containing information technology services, supporting the needs of the library organisation. For example frequency asked questions, user manuals and instructions for a variety of computer operations.

                                  - It is also argued that a wiki could be a place to hold library policies and procedures but I'm not sure if they are always such a collaborative type of document. Maybe with limited authorised staff. Team leaders, library management could work on documents together.
